Nifty Media index slips 3% led by Sun TV, Dish TV, Zee

Sun TV is among top laggards in the media index, followed by Dish TV, Zee Ltd, Dish TV and PVR.

The Nifty Media index is witnessing selling pressure in today's trade. The index is trading lower at 1,820.85 levels, down 3% or 58 points.

Sun TV is among top laggards in the media index, followed by Dish TV, Zee Ltd, Dish TV and PVR.

Shares of Sun TV slumped 9% on the NSE after Q2FY20 results. For the quarter ended September 30, 2019, Sun TV reported flattish growth in PAT, up 1% yoy at Rs368.79cr. The company's revenue for the quarter at Rs900.74cr was up 6.79%.

Shares of Dish TV tanked 6%, Zee fell 3% while, PVR, TV18 and TV Today slipped 2% each. On the other hand, Zee Media, Saregama, Balal Telefilms and Hathway were up in today’s trade.

Meanwhile, shares of Adani Green, Agro Phos India, Amrutanjan Health CareNSE, AU Small Finance Bank, DLF, HDFC Asset Management, Jash Engineering and Ponni Sugars hit a 52-week high on the NSE.

The Sensex is trading flat at 40,348 and the Nifty was down 4 points at 11,909. Further, the government will release data on consumer price inflation at 5:30 pm.
