Nifty Pharma declines 1% led by Biocon, Glenmark, Dr Reddy’s, Cipla

The Nifty Pharma index declined 1% on Friday as selling pressure was seen in Biocon, Glenmark, Dr Reddy’s, Cipla, Cadila Healthcare, and Divi's Lab.

Shares of Biocon, which dropped 3%, were leading the index’s fall. Shares of Glenmark, Dr Reddy’s, and Cipla also contributed to the fall, declining 2% each. Shares of Divi's Lab, Sun Pharma, and Cadila also fell 1% each.

However, shares of Piramal Enterprises and Aurobindo Pharma, which gained 2% and 1%, respectively, cushioned the index’s fall.

Meanwhile, equity benchmark indices were trading volatile on Friday with Sensex declining 63 points at 39,467 levels. The Nifty declined 11 points to trade at 11,832 levels, struggling to hold its key level of 11,850.
