Nifty Realty index in a bloodbath, plunges over 2%; Indiabulls, Godrej Properties worst hit

Indiabulls Real Estate emerged as top bear tumbling around 4% at Rs145.05 per piece.

The Nifty Realty index joined the markets bears on Thursday after yesterday's record highs market session. Due to volatility amid mixed global cues, the Nifty 50 was struggling around the 16,200 levels. Benchmark indices were on a negative note as investors shift their attention towards the RBI monetary policy this week. 

Realty Index dropped over 2% on Thursday at around 11:15 AM, it was trading at 403.30 down 8.55 points or 2.08%, after touching a high of 413.10 and low of 402.90 during intraday trade.

Nifty Realty was in a bloodbath with all scrips were on a  declining note in today's trade with Indiabulls Real Estate emerged as top bear tumbling around 4% at Rs145.05 per piece. 

Oberoi Realty and Sobha shed over 3% to emerge the biggest laggards in the sector.

Sunteck shed 2.87% at Rs390.35 per piece while Phoenix and Prestige was down by 2.53% and 2.39% respectively on the index. Sunteck revenue jumps 52% at Rs96cr, Q1 profit stood at Rs3cr.

Heavyweight Godrej Properties was 2% on the downside at Rs1604.90 per piece post Q1 result. The Real estate major's sales bookings in Q1FY22 drop 68% due to second wave of Covid-19. Hemisphere, DLF and Brigade extended losses to make the sector biggest laggard.
