Nifty slips below 11,500 mark; Eicher, Sun Pharma stocks drag

Equity benchmark indices erased gain and trading lower in the afternoon session. Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, and JSW Steel are trading higher, while HPCL, Eicher, and Sun Pharma are trading lower on the NSE.

The Sensex was down 113 points at 38,121 levels, and the Nifty50 index dropped 49 points at 11,434 levels.

Shares of Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, Asian Paints, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, RBL Bank and Titan have hit a 52-week high on the NSE.

The Nifty PSU Index rose 2% amid heavy buying in SBI, Oriental Bank, Canara Bank, and PNB. Shares of Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Bank of India, which gained 1-2% respectively, were leading the index’s gain.

The Nifty Media index was up 1% at 2,387.80 levels. PVR and Inox Leisure gained 3%, followed by Sun TV, Eros Media, and Dish TV was also up 2%, respectively.

From the IT space, the index is trading higher at 15,407.55. HCL Tech, OFSS, and Infosys gained, while Tech Mahindra, MindTree, and Wipro trading were lower in today’s session.
