Oil up on firming global prices

The rise in crude oil futures was owing to a rise in global prices on the back of the Gulf of Mexico storm scare and Iran tensions.

Crude oil prices rose 0.61% to Rs 4,157/bbl in futures trade on July 12 with speculators raising their exposure following a rebound in global markets.

On the MCX, crude for July delivery went up by Rs 25 to Rs 4,157/bbl in a business turnover of 23,863 lots, as per PTI.

The rise in crude oil futures was owing to a rise in global prices on the back of the Gulf of Mexico storm scare and Iran tensions.

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude rose 0.75% $60.65/bbl, while international benchmark Brent rose 0.83% to $67.07/bbl at the New York Mercantile Exchange.
