RBI Gov: India at doorstep of revival process; Financial entities have adequate capital

Das said that both fiscal and monetary policies are on an accommodative stance.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Shaktikanta Das in a panel discussion said that "India is at the doorstep of the revival process" from the Coronavirus pandemic.

Das was responding to a question at a panel discussion which was held by Bloomberg Quint on Wednesday.

The governor said, "We are almost at the doorstep of revival process and it's very important that the financial entities have adequate capital (to support growth)," reported by The Quint.

Further, Das pointed out that many have already raised capital and others are planning. He added saying, they would certainly do so in the coming months.

Also, Das said that both fiscal and monetary policies are on an accommodative stance.

According to the governor, India has followed the fiscal expansion path to deal with Covid-19 related challenges.
