Sensex, Nifty volatile; Media, Realty stocks lead

Equity benchmark indices were oscillating between gains and losses in the noon trade on Thursday’s session amid mixed global cues. The most active stocks on NSE are Sun Pharma, Lupin, IndiGo, ZEE and Yes Bank.

The Nifty Media rose ~2% at 2,104.45 levels as the rally was led by Zee, Inox Leisure, and Dish TV.

Shares of ZEE gained 5% in the media index and also among top gainers in today’s session, followed by SUN TV, DB Corp and PVR, which rose 1% each. On the flip side, Den Network dropped 4%, TV18, and Network 18 also fell in the range of 1-2% respectively.

From the realty space, the index was up 1% at 252.20 levels. Indiabulls Real Estate soared 6.5%, Phoenix Mills climbed 4.5%, and SunTeck up 2%. Mahindra Life and Sobha were down 1% on the realty index.

From the IT space, the top gainers are Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro.

Further, on the NSE, shares of Titan Company, Merck, Atul, Tanla Solutions have hit a new 52-week high, YES Bank, Aban Offshore, Apollo Tyres, Arvind, Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation, Bharat Wire Ropes, Bharat Forge, Cadila Healthcare, Ceat, Dabur India hit a 52-week low.

Meanwhile, the Sensex gained 46 points at 37,161 levels. The Nifty also rose 25 points to trade at 11,182 levels.
