Tata Motors rises 2% on announcing passenger vehicle price hike

This hike in price is due to rising input costs.

Shares of Tata Motors jumped 2% in intraday trade on Thursday after the auto major announced that it would be increasing prices of its entire passenger vehicles range by up to Rs40,000, starting January 01, 2019.

Tata Motors Ltd is currently trading at Rs166.65 up by Rs2.75 or 1.68% from its previous closing of Rs163.90 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs166.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs167.95 and Rs165.65 respectively. So far 1,01,50,214 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter.
