Nature of bank loans taken by farmers will be changed, chief minister told affected farmer communities. Short-term loans will be converted to medium-term and its interest will be paid by the government. Not just standing crops in the fields but loss and damage of harvested crops kept in barns will also be compensated, chief minister said addressing farmers at village Digwara in Sarangpur tehsil, Rajgarh.

The rupee was trading strong by 19 paise at 62.01 in the evening session on dollar selling by banks and exporters and on the back of dollar's weakness against other currencies overseas. After opening strong by 15 paise to 62.05 against the US dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market, the domestic unit hovered in the range of 61.98 and 62.07 in the evening trade.
