Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd’s Q2FY17 result beats top-line and misses bottom-line market consensus. The street was expecting top-line decline of ~7.8% yoy and bottom-line to grow by ~51.8% yoy.

The consolidated net revenue for the quarter grew by 0.7% yoy to Rs 52867 cr.

The consolidated EBITDA grew by 1.8% yoy to Rs 1381 cr due to lower purchases of stock-in-trade and lower purchase of raw materials. The consolidated EBITDA margin grew by 3 bps yoy and stood at 2.6% in Q2FY17 against 2.58% of previous quarter.

The consolidated net profit grew by 26.1% yoy to Rs 1305 cr against Rs 1035 cr of last quarter due to higher other income of Rs 328 cr.
