Top 10 stocks for today – 17th May 2024

Here are some of the stocks that may see significant price movement today.

Vedanta: The board of the Anil Agarwal-led company has announced its first interim dividend of ₹11 per share for the financial year 2025. The record date for the first interim dividend payout has been set for May 25, 2024.

Biocon: Biocon Ltd announced a 57% decline in its consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter, reporting ₹135 Crore compared to ₹313 Crore in the same period last year.

PB Fintech: Top executives of PB Fintech, the parent company of Policybazaar, are currently exploring the possibility of selling marginal stakes in the company through block deals.

Concor: The state-owned Navratna firm reported a consolidated net profit of ₹301.25 Crore for Q4FY24, marking a nearly 10% increase compared to ₹274.14 Crore reported in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. This growth was attributed to increased volume and higher market share, as stated in the PSU’s regulatory filing.

Crompton Greaves: The electrical consumer durables firm reported a 5.5% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching ₹138.4 Crore for the fourth quarter. In comparison, it had posted a net profit of ₹131 Crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Additionally, the company’s revenue saw a growth of 9.5%, amounting to ₹1,961 Crore, up from ₹1,791 Crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year.

JK Paper: The company reported a slight 1.7% year-on-year decrease in net profit, amounting to ₹275.6 Crore for the fourth quarter. In comparison, it had achieved a net profit of ₹280 Crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Meanwhile, the company’s revenue from operations remained stable at ₹1,719 Crore, unchanged from the corresponding period last year.

Vodafone Idea: The telecom operator reported a net loss of ₹7,674.6 Crore for the fourth quarter. This compares to a net loss of ₹6,419 Crore in the same quarter of the previous year. Despite this, the company’s revenue remained relatively stable, standing at ₹10,606.8 Crore compared to ₹10,532 Crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year.

ZEEL, JSW Steel: The companies will be announcing their quarterly results today.

Triveni Tribune: Triveni Turbine reported a profit of ₹76 Crore for the quarter ended March 2024, with revenue from operations totaling ₹458 Crore.

Reliance: Reliance Retail has established a long-term partnership with the UK-based online fashion retailer ASOS to enhance retail experiences for Indian consumers.
