Havells, Voltas and Amber Enterprises India led the winning race while Rajesh Exports dragged the most. Out of 15 stocks on Nifty50 the index had 12 advances and 3 declines.
The Sensex hit record high of 57,918.71 while the Nifty scaled record high of 17,225.75 in early trade. However, the market breadth turned negative later on.
At around 12.55 pm, BSE Sensex was trading at 57,504.44 down 47.95 points or 0.08% and Nifty50 at 17,116.95 down 15.25 points or 0.09%.
Nifty Consumer Durables was trading at 25,404.70 up 550.40 points or 2.21%, after touching an intraday high of 25,417.50 and low of 24,968.20.
Havells India Limited advanced nearly 6% at Rs1,343.95 per piece after hitting a 52-week fresh of Rs1,348 per piece on Wednesday. Voltas gained over 5.1% at Rs1,046.85 per piece to further push the sector up. Amber Enterprises India rose 4.25% at Rs3,018.00 per piece. Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals surged 3% and Titan Company was 1.5% on the upside.
Rajesh Exports was down over 1% at Rs580.10 per piece to drag the most. Whirpool and Dixon were also trading in the red.
