On Wednesday, the Karnataka government outlawed the online reservation of autorickshaws through the ride-hailing services Ola, Uber, and Rapido.
Following a meeting on Tuesday between representatives of the mobility players and the Karnataka Transport and Road Safety Department, the decision was made.
Following a discussion with the three businesses, the three corporations have decided to stop aggregating autorickshaws as of Wednesday.
According to Kumar, until the government makes a decision, ride-hailing firms like Ola and Uber cannot offer autorickshaw services.
The Karnataka government issued a warning to app cab aggregators that it would fine violating drivers Rs5,000. Only the businesses discovered to be aggregating autorickshaws will be subject to sanctions; no action will be taken against the autorickshaws themselves.
