Sansera Engineering bags Rs300 crore order from BMW Motorrad; Stock soars ~2%

1 Apr 2022 , 09:21 AM

Sansera Engineering Limited has bagged orders for two packages consisting of 26 Aluminium Forged and Machined parts from BMW Motorrad amounting to approx. Rs300 crore over 10 years.

These parts will be supplied from one of the Sansera Bengaluru plants, where Sansera has created a State-of-The-Art facility for Aluminium Forging and Machining, including Solution Heat Treatment and Anodizing.

Commenting on this achievement, B R Preetham Group CEO, Sansera Engineering Limited said: “This Rs300 crore order from BMW shows our prowess in Aluminium Forged and Machined parts. We have already been supplying components to multiple locations of BMW for the past 3 years and this order further strengthens our relationship with them.

We started our journey in Aluminum Forged parts three years back, in our platinum certified plant by IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) at Bidadi, Bengaluru and these have been contributing significantly into our business diversification plans. These are futuristic technology-agnostic components, which help in light-weighting of vehicles while maintaining safety and strength. Light weighting, and thereby such parts, are likely to see a substantial contribution in emerging xEV vehicles.

Currently, we have two forging presses and machining lines dedicated to aluminium forged parts and have initiated investments to double the capacity in the next financial year. Based on the RFQs and future potential, we are working on feasibility of investing in up to 4,000 Ton press line in the near future. Aluminium forgings are still in the nascent stage in India and we already have a head start.

Sansera has witnessed strong momentum in demand for new components/ business and currently we have about 255 components under various stages of development (includes auto and non-auto other than aerospace). We are also working on another ~300 components on various stages of RFQ.

We continue our growth trajectory on the back of new orders and expected repeat orders which will propel us to our target.”

On Friday morning trade, Sansera Engineering was trading at Rs691 per piece higher by 1.89% on Sensex.
