Stocks under F&O ban today, 16 May, 2024

16 May 2024 , 09:43 AM

On Thursday, May 16, 2024, Twelve stocks have been banned for trading under the F&O segment by National Stock Exchange.

The ban is primarily due to these stocks crossing 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL), as per NSE regulations. These stocks will still be available for trading in the cash market.

The stocks in the F&O ban list are:

  •   Balrampur Chini Mills
  •   Biocon
  •   Birlasoft
  •   GMR Airports Infrastructure
  •   Granules India
  •   Hindustan Copper
  •   Vodafone Idea
  •   India Cements
  •   LIC Housing Finance
  •   Piramal Enterprises
  •   SAIL
  •   ZEEL

The NSE updates the list of securities in the F&O ban daily. Derivative contracts in these securities have crossed 95% of the MWPL, triggering the ban.

The NSE statement specifies that clients and members should only trade in these securities to reduce their positions through offsetting. Any increase in open positions will lead to penal and disciplinary action. No new positions are allowed in F&O contracts of these stocks during the ban period.
