Buzzing Stocks: Mastek, ICICI Bank gain, while Mindtree falls

Cairn India inched up 0.32% to Rs 222.10 on the BSE after the Delhi High Court dismissed its plea seeking permission to export crude oil extracted from Rajasthan block.

Mastek Ltd is currently trading at Rs 149.7, up by Rs 16.8 or 12.64% from its previous closing of Rs 132.9 on the BSE. The company reported a net profit of Rs 7.65 crore for quarter-ended September, compared to Rs 3.6 crore previous quarter. 

Alok Industries Ltd is currently trading at Rs 3.57, up by Rs 0.27 or 8.18% from its previous closing of Rs 3.3 on the BSE.

ICICI Bank Ltd is currently trading at Rs 268.1, up by Rs 9.55 or 3.69% from its previous closing of Rs 258.55 on the BSE.

Mindtree Ltd is currently trading at Rs 476.1, down by Rs 14.75 or 3% from its previous closing of Rs 490.85 on the BSE.

Suven Life Sciences Ltd gained 2.5% after the company announced that it has granted one product patent from Europe and Israel corresponding to the New Chemical Entities (NCEs) for the treatment of disorders associated with Neurodegenerative diseases and these Patents are valid through 2030 and 2029 respectively.

Bharat Financial Inclusion zoomed 1.7%. Bharat Financial Inclusion has issued Commercial Papers of an aggregate amount of Rs 100 crore on October 17, 2016, which have been rated ‘A1+’ by a leading rating agency. The aggregate Commercial Papers outstanding as on date is Rs 450 crore. Instruments with the aforesaid rating are considered to have a very strong degree of safety regarding timely payment of financial obligations. Such instruments carry the lowest credit risk.

Ashok Leyland rallied 2.5%. Ashok Leyland unveiled its Circuit series electric bus, the country’s first such indigenously made vehicle. Designed and engineered in India, it’s in line with the company’s vision for the future of mass mobility.

HDFC
zoomed 2.3%. HDFC Life has reported 12% increase in net profit at Rs 464 crore during the first half of 2016-17 financial year.

UltraTech Cement is trading maginally higher. UltraTech Cement said its net profit in the quarter ended 30 September rose 25.27% from a year ago because of higher other income.

Logistics stocks rallied on Tuesday ahead of GST council meeting that begins later in the day. A crucial three-day meeting of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, comprising state finance ministers, starts today, 18 October 2016. The meeting is crucial because the government has set a deadline of 1 April 2017 for the GST rollout.

Gati Ltd is currently trading at Rs 134, up by Rs 3.9 or 3% from its previous closing of Rs 130.1 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs 133.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs 136.25 and Rs 133.15 respectively. So far 1039119 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs 1143.57 crore.

Gateway Distriparks Ltd is currently trading at Rs 259, up by Rs 4.5 or 1.77% from its previous closing of Rs 254.5 on the BSE. Snowman Logistics Ltd is currently trading at Rs 65.75, up by Rs 2.75 or 4.37% from its previous closing of Rs 63 on the BSE. Havells India advanced 1.7%. The company will announce its Q2 numbers today.

Zensar Technologies dipped 2% to Rs 992. The consolidated net revenue for the quarter grew by 2% QoQ to Rs. 772 cr against Rs 757 crore in the previous quarter. The consolidated net profit declined by 2.5% QoQ to Rs 74.5 cr against Rs 76.5 crore of last quarter due to fall in other income.

Aarti Industries zoomed 4.2%. The company informed BSE that the Board of Directors approved the buyback up to 12,00,000 fully paid-up equity shares of face value of Rs 5 representing up to 1.44% of the total number of Equity Shares of the Company at a price of Rs 800.

Axis Bank is trading flat on the BSE. Axis Bank has cut the marginal cost of fund based lending rate by 5 basis points across all tenors, effective from Tuesday.

Lakshmi Vilas Bank is trading lower on the BSE. The bank reported a 44.6% YoY surge in profit after tax at Rs 64.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30.

Future Consumer Enterprise Ltd gained 0.52%. Future Consumer Enterprise Ltd, Future Group’s consumer packaged goods unit, plans to launch a new brand, category or product every two weeks as it aims to have its own labels account for 70% of the products sold in group retail chains such as Big Bazaar and Easyday.

Mastek rallied 2.5%. The company will announce its Q2 numbers today.

Shriram EPC jumped 10% after the company bagged a Rs 61 crore contract for a water supply scheme in Bengaluru. The company has informed the BSE, that it has bagged the contract for a water supply scheme to Robertsonpet (KGF) City under the Centre's Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation scheme.

Indian Hume Pipe Company hit 20% upper circuit at Rs 804. Indian Hume Pipe Company Ltd has informed BSE that the Board of Directors will consider the proposal for issue of bonus shares by capitalization of free reserves at their meeting to be held on October 26.

United Spirits inched up 1%. The company appointed V K Viswanathan as an Additional Director of the company in the capacity of independent director.

Jet Airways gained 1.7% at Rs 463. Jet Airways is set to introduce wide-body services on the busiest domestic routes in a move that will significantly enhance connectivity.
