Larsen & Toubro shines 2% after winning overseas order

The company has signed the principle contract with Vietnam Border Guard valued at USD 99.7 million for design and construction of high speed patrol vessels in India as well as for transfer of design and technology along with supply of equipment and material kits for construction of follow-on vessels at a Vietnam shipyard.

Larsen & Toubro Ltd ended at Rs. 1499, up by Rs. 27.65 or 1.88% from its previous closing of Rs. 1471.35 on the BSE. The company has signed the principle contract with Vietnam Border Guard valued at USD 99.7 million for design and construction of high speed patrol vessels in India as well as for transfer of design and technology along with supply of equipment and material kits for construction of follow-on vessels at a Vietnam shipyard.

The high-speed patrol vessels are purpose-built for controlling and protecting sea security and sovereignty, detecting illegal activities such as smuggling, and undertaking search and rescue missions.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1484.1 and touched a high and low of Rs. 1502.55 and Rs. 1478.35 respectively. A total of 1475934 (NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 137179 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1615 on 27-Jul-2016 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1016.6 on 12-Feb-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1498.45 and Rs. 1458 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 0 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 55.32 % and 42.62 % respectively.

The stock traded below its 50 DMA.
