SpiceJet plans to raise Rs3.35bn:report

The report stated that the airline has its board’s approval to raise US$50-75 mn to fund its international expansion.

Low-cost air carrier SpiceJet is planning to raise around US$75 mn (Rs 3.35bn) and has given the mandate to IDFC-SSKI for raising funds through preferential allotment of shares and strategic sale, accoridng to a report.

The report stated that the airline has its board’s approval to raise US$50-75 mn to fund its international expansion.

The airline  will begin flying abroad from June, with flights to Kathmandu in Nepal, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

The outlook is a flat start. The market will look to scale to new peaks though not much effort is needed for the same. HUL saw a rally and short-covering may have pulled it up further. Speculation is on that its parent will raise stake through an open offer. After the cooling in oil prices, Cairn results will be in focus.
