Nickelodeon gets rights for ‘Shaun the Sheep’
The cool new range of products includes ‘Shaun the Sheep’ branded Plush toys in various shapes and sizes.
It’s time to join the flock as Nickelodeon India,the popular kids’ brand,has acquired merchandising rights of its much-loved character, Shaun the Sheep. Following the show’s success amongst Nicksters, the brand is all set to launch a whole new attractive range of merchandise for its ardent fans.Acquiring the rights from the official international creator Aardman Animations, Nickelodeon has partnered with Toy Triangle for distributing the much-awaited range which is expected to hit the Indian market by June 2013.
Shaun, the leader of the flock, is adored by millions of kids across the globe for his wit, enthusiasm and his fun-loving nature. Keeping these traits in mind, the new Shaun the Sheep merchandise range is sure to appeal to kids and help them engage with their favorite Nicktoon.
The cool new range of products includes ‘Shaun the Sheep’ branded Plush toys in various shapes and sizes. Quoted at an affordable price range of Rs. 249/- to Rs. 1999/-, the range will be available at all leading retail stores like Hamleys and Landmark amongst others.
In addition, Nickelodeon India plans to build the craze of Shaun the Sheepby bringing in plush key chains, more toys, back-to-school range, novelties, apparels and much more in the near future.
Speaking about this new range, Sandeep Dahiya, SVP & Business Head – Consumer Products, Viacom18 Media Pvt Ltd. says “Shaun the Sheep as a show has connected extremely well with the audiences and we’re confident that it will engage the audiences as much, outside television as well.”
He further added, “Aardman Rights has done a great job in making Shaun the Sheep a phenomena in many markets across the world, and its addition surely further strengthens our licensing portfolio that already includes popular characters like SpongeBob Square Pants, Dora the Explorer, Ninja Hattori and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, amongst others.”
