The RBI policy stance has now clearly moved towards addressing concerns about growth. RBI gave a pleasant surprise by cutting both, the repo rate by 25bps to 7.75% and CRR by 25bps to 4%. Perhaps, this is the beginning of many cuts to come.
The beginning for the market appears positive with global cues providing some support. The F&O expiry on Thursday will cause some readjustments which could swing indices either way. Corporate results will continue to flow in with stock-specific activity continuing in various counters.
With the RBI event out of the way, attention will now be directed to what policy measures are likely in the budget.
The two-day Federal Reserve meeting has begun and no change is likely in policy even though some expect the Fed accelerate its efforts to tighten monetary policy this year.
