  • “The said acquisition was at arm's length with the aforesaid related party, since the consideration was arrived at on the basis of Independent Valuer's report. Besides, it is not a material transaction as per applicable regulations and materiality policy of the Company,” the company said in a filing on Thursday.

Most hospitals expect double-digit revenue growth in FY2022: ICRA

  • The hospital sector witnessed a spike in Covid-19 occupancies during Q1 FY2022 in line with the active cases in India that touched an all-time high in May 2021, peaking at more than 4x the first wave peak. The overall occupancy levels were supported by a longer average length of stay for Covid patients even as localised lockdowns resulted in a sequential decline in non-Covid occupancies to a certain extent. The blended occupancy of both Covid and non-Covid patients for ICRA sample set stood higher at 64.2% in Q1 FY2022 (against 36.9% in Q1 FY2021 and 58.8% in Q4 FY2021).
  • Most multi-speciality hospitals derived 25-30% of their Q1 FY2022 footfalls and revenues from Covid-19 treatments and vaccination drives. While the Y-o-Y revenue growth of 129% in Q1 FY2022 for ICRA sample set was optically high aided by the low base, the Q-o-Q revenue growth was also healthy at ~15%. Read more

Hero MotoCorp total sales drop by 22% in August 2021; stock declines

  • Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, on Wednesday has reported a 22% drop in total sales in August 2021 as compared to 5,84,456 units in August 2020.
  • In the regulatory filing, the company has sold a total of 19,32,784 units of two-wheelers between April-August in FY22. During the same period in last fiscal, the company sold 16,62,233 units of two-wheelers.
  • In the domestic market, Hero MotoCorp sold 431,137 units which were down 24% of two-wheelers last month. The company registered 568,674 units of domestic sales in the same month last year. It registered 18,01,052 units between April-August this fiscal. Read more

ICRA revises outlook on Indian Hotels Company NCDS to Stable from Negative; Stock up 2%

  • ICRA Limited has reaffirmed the long-term credit rating of the below non-convertible debentures (NCDs) of Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) and the outlook has been revised from Negative to Stable. The rating on NCDs Rs300cr has been revised from ICRA AA (negative) to ICRA AA Stable.
  • “The revision in the outlook on the long-term rating factors the likely improvement in the capitalization metrics and cash flow position of the company following its recent announcement on fundraising. IHCL’s Board of Directors, on August 23, 2021, approved a proposal for an equity infusion not exceeding Rs3,000cr by way of a rights issue,” the company shared ICRA’s rating rationale on Wednesday. RBI imposes Rs25 lakh monetary penalty on Axis Bank over non-compliance

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty on the private lender, Axis Bank for contravention of/non-compliance with certain provisions of directions issued by the central bank.
  • According to RBI's statement, scrutiny was carried out by RBI during February 2020 and March 2020 in a customer account maintained with the bank and it was observed that the bank had failed to comply with the aforesaid directions issued by RBI, ie., the bank failed to monitor/carry out on-going due diligence in the said account to ensure that the transactions were consistent with its knowledge about the customer, customer’s business and risk profile.   • Sun Pharma, step-down subsidiary, Sun Pharma Japan has sold entire shareholding in Kayaku Co. Ltd to Shinshin Pharmaceutical for a total consideration of JPY 353,983,400.
  • From September 01, 2021, Kayaku has ceased to be the subsidiary of Sun Pharma.
  • Sun Pharma said that the subsidiary company, Kayaku Co. Ltd whose entire shareholding is sold to the buyer comprised a factory at Tokorozawa and its related assets and liabilities.   • Reliance Industries Limited clarified to exchanges Thursday regarding a query on media reports regarding Reliance plans to acquire Europe’s largest solar panel manufacturer.
  • “We refer to your letter/email dated September 1, 2021, seeking clarification on the news item "Reliance looks to acquire Europe’s largest solar panel manufacturer" which appeared in the “www. business” dated August 31, 2021, and would like to clarify that we are unable to comment on media speculation and rumours and it would be inappropriate on our part to do so,” the company said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.

Rupee gains 10 paise at 72.98 against US Dollar

  • The Indian rupee extended morning gains against the US dollar tracking a positive trend in domestic equities and sustained foreign fund inflows.
  • At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened at 73.04 against the dollar, then surged higher to 72.98, up 10 paise over its previous close.
