  • Oyo Rooms filed Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) for its $1.1 billion IPO in September 2021. The company has still not got green light from  SEBI for its IPO. According to reports, the company is going to file addendum to its DRHP. This addendum will give its financial result for the entire 2021-22 financial year. The delay in getting SEBI approval happened because Oyo sought to file an updated DRHP with SEBI.

TVS and Eicher trade near 52-week highs on positive demand outlook

  • In Tuesday's intraday trade on the BSE, shares of two-wheeler manufacturers were in demand, with TVS Motor Company and Eicher Motors trading at their respective 52-week highs on the anticipation of robust rural demand supported by favorable rabi output, an increase in crop prices, and the opening of schools and colleges.

  • PharmEasy, an Indian startup providing pharmaceutical and medical services, is in talks with investors to raise $200 million, but at a valuation that could be as much as 15% or 25% less than the $5.1 billion it received last year, according to two people with direct knowledge of the discussions who spoke to Reuters.
  • According to the first person participating in the discussions, several current investors in PharmEasy are expected to contribute roughly $115 million to the proposed capital raising. Read more

Gazprom defaults on the delivery of at least 5 cargoes to GAIL

  • As a result of its retaliatory measures against one of the businesses that supply gas to India, news reports claim that Russia has defaulted on the delivery of at least five cargoes or shiploads of LNG to India.
  • The largest gas company in India, GAIL, has a long-term agreement to purchase 2.85 million tonnes of LNG annually from a Singapore-based subsidiary of Russian gas producer Gazprom.
  • According to various reports, the company has been in default since June on the provision of 5 cargoes of LNG under that contract, citing difficulties obtaining gas owing to sanctions. Read More

Oil meals export soars by two-fold to around 4.32 lakh tonnes in June

  • According to industry data, India's export of oil meals increased nearly twofold in June to 4,31,840 tonnes due to a record shipment of rapeseed meals. Solvent Extractors' Association (SEA) of India estimates that in the same month last year, exports totaled 2,03,868 tonnes.
  • The organization stated in a statement that the "export of oil meals for the month of June 2022 tentatively recorded at 431,840 tonnes, compared to 203,868 tonnes in June 2021." Rapeseed meal exports reached a record high of 3,08,549 tonnes last month thanks to increasing domestic production and processing, according to SEA. Read more

After Q1 earnings, shares of Bank of Maharashtra increase by more than 2%

  • Tuesday morning trading saw a more than 2% increase in Bank of Maharashtra shares as the company reported a more than doubling of net profit for the April-June quarter. After a strong start in the opening minutes of trading, the stock increased 1.80% to Rs16.95 on the BSE.It increased 2.10% to Rs17 at the NSE.
  • The state-run Bank of Maharashtra announced on Monday that its net profit for the April-June quarter increased by more than double to Rs452 crore, thanks to strong net interest income and an improvement in asset quality.
  • In the previous quarter of fiscal 2022, the lender had reported a net profit of Rs208 crore on a standalone basis. Read more

  • On July 19, Tata Motors' share price saw intraday losses as Rakesh Jhunjhunwala reduced his ownership position in the automaker. According to current ownership patterns on the BSE, the legendary investor reduced his holdings in the car giant between April and June.
  • As of June, Jhunjhunwala owned 1.09 percent of Tata Motors, or 3,62,50,000 shares, down from 1.18 percent in March. The stock was down Rs 3.30, or 0.73 percent, to Rs 447.60 as of 12:31 p.m. on the BSE. It reached a high of 451.75 rupees intraday and a low of 445.40 rupees intraday. Read more

  • The Indian rupee has dropped by almost 25% since December 31, 2014, and is now close to 80 versus the US dollar, according to information provided to the Lok Sabha on Monday. In response, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman cited RBI statistics to state that the value of the rupee decreased from 63.33 to 79.41 versus the dollar from December 31, 2014, to July 11, 2022.
  • Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated in a written response that the Indian Rupee's exchange rate to the US Dollar was Rs 78.94 per dollar as of June 30, 2022. RBI caps withdrawals from Raigad Sahakari Bank at Rs15,000

  • The banking regulator Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today imposed a number of limitations on Raigad Sahakari Bank, a cooperative bank with headquarters in Mumbai. For a period of six months, the limits, which include a withdrawal cap of Rs15,000 per user, would be in effect.

MoU signed between CESL and Three Wheels United to purchase 70,000 electric three-wheelers

  • Convergence Energy Services, a state-owned company, has partnered with Three Wheels United, a fintech company that specializes in electric vehicle financing, to purchase 70,000 electric three-wheelers over the next five years.
  • A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been struck in this regard between Convergence Energy Services (CESL), a fully owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), and Three Wheels United (TWU).
  • According to a corporate release, CESL will purchase 70,000 electric three-wheelers (E3Ws) that will be distributed throughout India over the course of five years in various phases. Read More

  • Oil prices continued to rise on Monday, supported by growing worries about Russian gas supplies and a weaker currency, which outweighed demand worries brought on by a potential recession and Chinese lockdowns.
  • After rising 2.1% on Friday, Brent crude futures for September settlement increased by $4.44, or 4.4%, to $105.60 a barrel by 1427 GMT.
