a. Business Overview & Trends

Two great years for the stock markets and it became time to take a breather ? The Indian economy continues to go from strength to strength, but markets never move up in a straight line. They go from undervaluation to overvaluation, and back to undervaluation. Stock prices ahead of the performances of their companies, and then took a pause last year, with the markets offering a challenge to make money. Given the structural changes that have taken place in our economy over the past 7 years, the road ahead seems to be more visible, and much smoother. We expect the economy and our listed companies to go from strength to strength, which will be well reflected in stock prices over the long term.

b. Nature of Industry

Despite the inherent risk in the nature of the financial industry, we believe that our experience will hold us in good stead in managing the risk. With interest rates seeming to have peaked out in India, we expect both our economy as well as our companies to fortify their strengths even more.

c. Business Performance

Despite the challenges of last year, we were able to generate adequate profits (before tax adjustments of previous years). We are very happy that we were able to fortify our base, and look forward to capitalising on it in the future.

All our borrowers kept their accounts in good stead even through the various challenges faced by the economy. The volatility in the stock market will continue to affect our performance, but we continue to hope to capitalise on it to our best abilities.

Despite the world being ravaged by high inflation, India has stood its ground and come out relatively unscathed, a feat that has brought us laurel from around the world. We firmly believe in the future of our and are very bullish on the future outlook for our financial markets.
