- Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, L&T and Adani Ports were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Eicher Motors, Bajaj Finance, ONGC, Bharti Infratel and Infosys.

- JSW Steel in its filing to the exchanges on Tuesday informed that its crude steel production dropped by 6% to 12.57 lakh tonnes in February 2019 compared to 13.33 lakh tonnes in the same period a year ago.
- Further, output of flat rolled products rose marginally by 1% to 9.20 lakh tonnes in the same period under review compared to 9.12 lakh tonnes in February 2018. Read more.

- Shares of Mahindra CIE Automotive gained in the afternoon session in today’s trade. The company’s board has approved the acquisition of 100% of the issued and outstanding share capital of Aurangabad Electricals for an enterprise value of Rs875.6cr, which includes a future deferred payment estimated upto Rs62.2cr, as per BSE filing.

- Shares of Bharti Airtel are among top index gainers in Nifty50 index and above 4% in the noon trade on Tuesday’s session. As per media reports, Bharti Infratel said that the telecom company will slash its stake in the telecom tower company by more than half to 18.3%.
- Airtel's unit, Nettle Infrastructure Investments Ltd, will buy a 32% stake in Bharti Infratel, the media report said.

- Shares of Adani Enterprises were trading 3% higher on Tuesday after the company received Letter of Awards (LoAs) for two hybrid annuity road projects from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in Telangana.
- Of the total, a project worth Rs1,041.40cr has been awarded for Four Laning of NH-363 from Mancherial (Design Km 0.000/Existing Km 251.900) to Repallewada (Design Km 42.000/Existing Km 288.510) (Design Length = 42.000 Km) in Telangana under NHDP PhaseIV under NH (0) on Hybrid Annuity Mode, the company said in a press note to the exchanges on Tuesday. - Zydus Cadila has received the final approval from the USFDA to market Atenolol and Chlorthalidone Tablets USP (US RLD -Tenoretic), 50 mg/25 mg and 100 mg/25 mg. It will be manufactured at the group’s formulations manufacturing facility at SEZ, Ahmedabad.

- Dr Reddy’s Laboratories is seeking Indivior Plc to pay ~$70mn as a compensation for lost US sales of its generic version of opioid addiction treatment that was delayed in a patent dispute with the Indivior.
- In July, 2018, Indivior through a court injunction had blocked Dr Reddy’s generic version of Suboxone Film. This was despite Dr Reddy’s acquiring approval from regulatory authorities earlier to sell the product for opioid dependence. However, in February 2019, the US Supreme Court refused to uphold that injunction and allowed Dr Reddy’s to resume sales of the drug, media reports said. Read more

- Asian stock markets were trading higher on Tuesday after the European Commission agreed to changes in a Brexit deal ahead of a vote in the British parliament on a divorce agreement. Sterling has gained ahead of the talks between May and Juncker, extended gains in hopes the changes may be enough to sway rebellious British lawmakers who have threatened to vote down May's plan again on Tuesday.

- HDFC Standard Life Insurance stock in focus today as Standard Life (Mauritius Holdings) said it will sell via offer for sale mechanism up to 7cr shares, or 3.47% of the equity shares with an option to sell an additional 2.95cr shares aggregating to a sale stake of 4.93% stake in the Insurance company.
- Jet Airways denied that it received Rs2,050cr as a loan from PNB. The company has clarified that it has existing credit facilities of $300 mn from the bank and no fresh credit facilities have been provided.
