India Unsafe! 4 countries issue travel advisory
UK, US, Australia and Switzerland issued travel advisory to its citizens against visiting India after the recent incident of a British woman jumping out of a hotel room window in Agra fearing sexual assault, according to reports.
Hugo Swire, Minister of State for Foreign and Common Wealth Office, UK reportedly said that the revision of travel advisory for British tourists visiting India reflected "fact on the ground".
"India has to deal with such incidents so that no misconception goes that it is unfriendly to tourists and nobody wants that to happen as it might affect tourism", Swire reported.
There are reports that Australia too has updated its travel advisory to its citizens visiting India.

Union Tourism Minister, K. Chiranjeevi, expressed his anguish over the incident of gang rape on Swiss national woman in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh. He condemned the heinous crime on foreign tourist, who came to India along with her husband on a cycling trip.
As soon as the incident came into light through media reports, the Union Minister for Tourism made a phone call to Sivaraj Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and inquired about the incident. The Chief Minister, apprised him about the steps taken by the government to book the culprits. Chiranjeevi urged him to take necessary steps to nab all the culprits in connection with the case and do justice to the victim. He has also spoken to DGP of Madhya Pradesh in this regard.
