Budget expectations: Education Sector

21 Jan 2022 , 06:54 PM

Last Year education allocation budget was Rs. 93,223 crores, which was reduced by 6% as compared to the year before. This year we are expecting it to be increased by 10%. To increase connectivity government should announce programmes to boost 5G devices at an affordable rate to boost e-learning infrastructure.

We look forward to seeing a massive focus towards lessening the financial burden on parents and students to reduce the interest on education loans. This will help students to aspire for higher education without getting under economic stress.  Due to the pandemic, all the students are studying from home. Having a laptop is the minimum requirement for the students and teachers to either record or impart live instructions. If the government can provide subsidized access to laptops for students and teachers it can boost the quality of online education

Pandemic changed the way of perceiving education and opened numerous opportunities. It brought the limelight on the inequality of access to resources for quality education, in the budget we are looking forward to the focus toward improvement on digital infrastructure. We are also expecting Academic institutions to be given special recognition and concessions for collaborating with industry to provide students with the necessary skills and competencies and to prepare them for the workforce
