Stocks under F&O ban list today, 24th April, 2024

24 Apr 2024 , 09:42 AM

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, three stocks came under F&O ban list as they crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL).

Hindustan Copper, Vodafone Idea, and ZEEL are the three stocks included in the F&O ban list for April 24. Despite the ban in the F&O segment, these stocks will remain available for trading in the cash market.

The NSE updates the F&O ban list daily based on securities exceeding the MWPL.

According to the NSE, derivative contracts in these securities have surpassed 95% of the MWPL and are currently under the ban period. During the ban period, clients/members are allowed to trade in derivative contracts only to decrease their positions through offsetting positions, while any increase in open positions will incur penal and disciplinary action.

Fresh positions are not permitted for any F&O contracts in the particular stock under the ban period imposed by the stock exchanges.

On Tuesday, Sensex and Nifty closed higher for the third consecutive session, driven by gains in telecom, tech, and consumer durable shares, amidst a positive global market trend.

Sensex closed 89.83 points or 0.12% higher at 73,738.45, after rallying over 400 points during the session. Nifty ended 31.60 points or 0.14% up at 22,368, trimming most of its early gains, while climbing 111.15 points or 0.49% during the day.

In the broader market, the BSE smallcap index surged 1.05%, and the midcap index rose by 0.52%.

Notable sectoral gains were observed in telecommunications (4.27%), realty (2.42%), tech (1.23%), utilities (0.95%), consumer durables (0.82%), and consumer discretionary (0.77%), while oil & gas, metal, and energy sectors lagged.
