Madhya Pradesh Boosts Tourism with Partnerships

13 Mar 2024 , 11:48 AM

MakeMyTrip said on Tuesday that the Department of Tourism, Madhya Pradesh, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with both MakeMyTrip and redBus in an effort to increase tourism in the state.

According to the firm, the partnership’s goals are to promote Madhya Pradesh as a “premier” tourist destination and encourage sustainable tourism growth.

According to the corporation, the MOU includes a commitment to support homestays in Madhya Pradesh, which is a well-known way to raise earnings in both rural and urban areas, offer stable alternative sources of income, and encourage low-carbon tourism in the region.

In order to assist current and prospective homestay owners in comprehending the subtleties involved in marketing and managing these properties “effectively,” MakeMyTrip has announced that it would also offer offline and online training sessions.

Additionally, MakeMyTrip announced that it will work with the tourism department to “intensify” the focus on promoting the state’s offerings through its platform for pilgrimages and wildlife-led travel experiences.

The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board will acknowledge redBus as the official “Online Bus Ticketing Partner”.

With the most land-based wildlife national reserves in India and a multitude of ancient cultural and religious sites all within its borders, Madhya Pradesh is a “treasure trove” of enlightening experiences, according to Sheo Shekhar Shukla, principal secretary for tourism and managing director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. “We are dedicated to proudly presenting our state and hand-picking fresh experiences that appeal to all age groups of contemporary travelers. We think that working together will enable us to access fresh perspectives and channels for achieving our objective in a sustainable, fair, and thoughtful way,” he continued.

According to Rajesh Magow, group CEO and co-founder of MakeMyTrip, Madhya Pradesh is a “prominent” destination in India.

“By utilizing our platform’s strengths, we hope to increase the visibility of state tourism areas through this relationship. This covers spiritual and animal tourism, as well as our expanding homestays component. Our large presence and track record of providing creative solutions put us in a unique position to support Madhya Pradesh’s tourism industry,” he continued.

RedBus CEO Prakash Sangam stated that road travel allows for a far more thorough exploration of any destination. “We firmly believe that this strategic collaboration will not just enhance travel experiences for our customers but also contribute to an enriched discovery of the state’s hidden gems and experiences,” he stated.
