NTPC Group's installed capacity surpasses 76 GW mark

30 Apr 2024 , 03:02 PM

The NTPC Group, a state-owned power company, has reached 76 GW of installed power generation capacity with the commissioning of a 57-MW solar power energy facility in Rajasthan.

After successful commissioning and obtaining necessary approvals, the initial capacity of 57 MW out of the total 90 MW for the Anta Solar PV Project in Anta, Rajasthan, has been officially declared to be in commercial operation as of April 26, 2024, starting from midnight.

According to the statement, NTPC's total installed and commercial capacity on a standalone and group basis have reached 59,135 MW and 76,015 MW, respectively.

NTPC is India's largest energy company, with roots dating back to 1975 to expedite electricity development in India. Since then, it has established itself as the main power major, with operations across the whole value chain of the power generation industry.

The fundamental duty of NTPC is to generate and distribute power to India's State power Boards. The organisation also provides consulting and turnkey project contracts for engineering, project management, construction management, and power plant operation and management.

At around 10.48 AM, NTPC was trading 0.43% lower at ₹361.45, against the previous close of ₹363 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high and low of ₹365.45, and ₹360.50, respectively.
