Zoomcar & SPARKCARS Drive EV Revolution in India

26 Mar 2024 , 03:16 PM

Zoomcar, a car-sharing marketplace, announced on Tuesday that it has teamed with SPARKCARS, a self-drive rental company of electric vehicles, with the goal of adding more than 1,000 EVs to its platform in India over the course of the next two years.

The firm stated in a statement that the agreement will contribute to the expansion of the inventory of EV vehicles that are available for self-drive, meeting the growing demand for autonomous and convenient travel.

In the next two years, Zoomcar and SPARKCARS plan to add more than 1,000 electric vehicles to Zoomcar’s platform throughout India. Popular models like the Mahindra XUV 400, Citroen eC3, TATA Nexon, and many more will be added, providing consumers with a wide range of environmentally friendly solutions for their transportation needs, the statement stated.

Greg Moran, CEO and co-founder of Zoomcar, stated that the collaboration is in line with the government’s increasing emphasis on expanding the electric vehicle ecosystem.

‘We are not just adding EVs to our platform; we are empowering our guests with a variety of sustainable choices and opening the doors to the disproportionate economic value that EV hosts can earn as compared to ICE,’ he stated.

With a market leader like Zoomcar, SPARKCARS CEO and co-founder Mehul Agrawal says the firm is more confident in achieving the goal at a much faster speed. The company has been working towards allowing a sustainable mobility transition in India.
