Markets end the day in red

Indian equity markets remained in red through most of  the day today. Nifty 50 ended, down by 39.35 points. Sensex ended, down by 87.12 points. Top Gainers today were HCL Tech, Asian Paints, Hindustan Unilever. Top Losers today were M&M, Bajaj Auto, NTPC. All the broader indices remained in red today. Midcap stocks saw the most selling pressure. 

Auto stocks saw significant selling pressure today. Two of the top three losers today at Nifty 50 were auto stocks. Realty stocks and banking stocks saw some buying demand. Pharma and healthcare stocks also came under selling pressure today. PNB, IRFC, Excel were most active stocks today in terms of trading volume. ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, and HDFC Bank were most active stocks today in terms of value. 57 stocks touched their 52 week high today at NSE. 53 stocks touched their 52-week low.
