Markets see steep rise in the last 30 minutes

Indian equity markets saw a day of some volatility today. Markets rose steeply in the last 30 minutes. Nifty 50 ended, up by 84.25 points. Sensex ended, up by 274.12 points. Top Gainers today were IndusInd Bank, NTPC and JSW Steel. Top Losers today were BPCL, Nestle India and Bharti Airtel. 

Small cap stocks saw some selling pressure today. Mid cap stocks saw some buying demand. All sector indices ended in green, except for Realty. Realty stocks saw some selling pressure today. PSU Banking stocks again saw good buying demand.  In terms of volume, UCO Bank, IRFC, and JP Power were the most traded stocks today at NSE. In terms of value, Mazagon Dock, Kaynes, and Paytm were the most traded stocks. Mazagon Dock’s stock saw heavy buying demand today. This happened a day after the ex-dividend date, for its most recent interim dividend. 

59 stocks touched their 52 week high today at NSE. 67 stocks touched their 52 week low.
