Producers of consumer electronics Samsung has expanded its footprint in the premium TV industry by entering the OLED TV (Organic light-emitting diode) category in the Indian market.
One of the top companies in the TV market, Samsung India, announced in a statement that it will have all of its OLED TV models domestically made in India.
The debut of Samsung India’s OLED TV models S95C and S90C, which have an AI-enabled Neural Quantum 4K Processor and produce deep blacks, crisp whites, and vibrant colours, was announced on Thursday.
Mohandeep Singh, senior vice president of consumer electronics for Samsung India, stated to ET: ‘By introducing new OLED TVs, we will be able to further solidify our position in the premium TV market.
With the introduction of our new line of OLED TVs, we are pushing the envelope of innovation. In order to achieve great picture quality, we have improved OLED TVs by fusing the Neural Quantum Processor 4K with OLED panels,’ he stated.
Samsung’s OLED TV line includes features like smart EyeComfort Mode, wireless Dolby Atmos and OTS+ enabling sound, IoT Hub, and IoT-enabled sensors, with prices ranging from Rs. 1.69 lakh and upwards.
In contrast to LED TV, which operates on the idea of self-illumination and necessitates a backlighting system, OLEDs do not. OLED, on the other hand, has a wider viewing angle than LED TVs and is a self-illuminating variety.
A new report from Counterpoint Research states that in 2022, the country’s shipments of smart TVs experienced a double-digit increase of 28%. Samsung came in second, followed by Xiaomi, a maker of smart devices.
