G20 Finance -; Central Bank Deputies meeting begins in Bengaluru today

The first Finance & Central Bank Deputies meeting under India’s G20 chairmanship will begin in Bengaluru on Tuesday and will feature around 180 participants from around the globe. The summit will discuss topics including the global economy, the international financial system, infrastructure, and sustainable finance. According to official sources, discussions will go on until December 15. The finance ministry and the RBI are co-hosting it.
Ajay Seth, the secretary of economic affairs, and Michael Patra, the deputy governor of the RBI, will jointly preside over the meeting. The three-day gathering will include participation from their counterparts from the G20 member nations and from several other countries and international organizations that India has invited.

Along with managing global debt vulnerabilities, advancing financial inclusion and productivity gains, financing for climate action and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a globally coordinated approach to unbacked crypto assets, and moving forward with the international taxation agenda, these topics will also be covered at the meeting.
