Daesung Eltec and Minda corporation tie up for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems technology

On Monday, the manufacturer of automotive components Minda Corporation announced a partnership with the South Korean company Daesung Eltec to provide India's next-generation solutions for advanced driver assistance systems. On October 28, 2022, a technological licence and assistance deal was signed between the two businesses, according to a statement from Minda Corporation.

The partners will provide advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for passenger, commercial, and off-road vehicle segments through their partnership.

These include lane departure warning systems, driver monitoring systems, around view monitoring systems, and front collision warning systems (FCWS).

He added that the agreement will allow Minda to be one of the early movers providing localised solutions in the sector. Daesung Eltec delivers more than four decades of deep knowledge to the automotive electronics industry.

When the contract was signed, Won Ghee Yang, CEO of Daesung Eltec, said: "Autonomous vehicles will soon be a regular sight thanks to the steady advancement of the Indian auto sector, making ADAS both necessary and important. We firmly feel that this partnership is an excellent first step in combining the advantages of the two businesses."

According to the announcement, as part of the partnership, Daesung Eltec will assist Minda with product design, development, and validation as well as play a significant role in process design, validation, and manufacturing line setup for ADAS systems.
