Kirloskar Electric seeks lay-off period extension for 38 workers at Govenahalli

The partial lay-off period extension sought is for two months for 38 workmen out of 152 workmen of the company’s Unit at Govenahalli from January 20, 2022.

Kirloskar Electric Company Limited has made an application to the concerned labour department to extend the partial lay-off period to 60 days for 38 workmen out of 152 workmen of the Company’s Unit located at Govenahalli with effect from January 20, 2022.

The company had laid off many of its workmen at Govenahalli, Hirehalli (Tumkur), and Budihyal plants from June 2020, as a temporary arrangement due to Covid-19 impact and has sought many extensions from the concerned labour department thereafter.

Towards close of trade on Friday, Kirloskar Electric Company Ltd was trading at Rs25.65 per share down Rs1 or 3.75% from its previous closing of Rs26.65 per share on the BSE.
