L&T Technologies, Nvidia to develop AI-enabled architecture for medical devices

21 Nov 2023 , 08:58 AM

According to a regulatory filing, L&T Technology Services Ltd (LTTS) has collaborated with Nvidia to build AI-enabled, software-defined architectures for medical devices focused on endoscopy, which will improve picture quality and scalability.

With the aid of a scalable platform that supports many applications, the solution intends to overcome industry-wide issues of availability, cost, and dependencies tied to bespoke and proprietary hardware components, giving a real-time decision-making tool for the medical fraternity.

It claims low-latency data transfer, improved image processing without performance bottlenecks, and scalability, in addition to a user-friendly interface and seamless integration of the image processing pipeline for visualisation.

The partnership makes use of the Nvidia Holoscan and Nvidia IGX Orin platforms, which have ultra-low data transmission latency, better image processing, and scalability to support a variety of AI-enabled applications.

According to Amit Chadha, CEO and managing director of L&T Technology Services, the platform speeds up the development of AI-powered medical imaging solutions by boosting picture quality and real-time clinical decision-making assistance, making physicians more efficient and improving patient outcomes.
