Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, has announced a reduction in value-added tax (VAT) on gasoline and diesel of Rs5 per liter and Rs3 per liter, respectively.
After the state Cabinet meeting at Mantralaya on July 14, the CM announced the price reduction, according to ANI. The judgment was praised as a "huge relief to Maharashtrian and Marathi Manus" by Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra's deputy chief minister.
I'm happy to inform you that the new administration, led by CM Eknathrao Shinde, has agreed to lower gasoline and diesel costs by Rs5 per liter and Rs3 per liter, respectively. According to Fadnavis, the state would bear a cost of Rs6,000 crore for this choice.
He continued by saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made an appeal for the sake of regular people. In a tweet, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri added his voice, calling the decision "good."
