Market Opening Bells in green; Nifty Bank and metals above 1%

Indian Markets opened in green after ending the previous day on a dim note. Sectoral indices Bank and Metal open nearly 1% higher. FMCG marked a slow entry, with all other indices trading in green.

During opening bells, Sensex was trading at 54,075.68 points, up by 201.58 points or 0.38% against its previous close. Nifty traded 79.30 points higher at 16,105.10 against its previous close.

At around 9.35 AM, BSE Sensex was trading 194.35 points or 0.36% higher at 53,943.61 points. NSE Nifty was trading 49.15 points or 0.31% higher at 16,074.95 points.

HDFC Bank (+1.28%), and Hindalco (+1.27%) led the gainer's chart, followed by Wipro (+1.25%), and ICICI Bank (+1.21%). Nestle India (+1.19%) maintained its gainer position yet another day with above 1% increase.

Petroleum Stock BPCL (-2.16%), and ONGC (-1.90%) emerged as top laggards. While UPL (-1.36%), NTPC (-1.28%), and Hindustan Unilever (-1.25%) further dragged down the chart.

On the sectoral front, Nifty Metal (+1.39%), and Nifty Bank (+1.06%) opened with over 1% gains. Nifty Financial Services (+0.96%), Nifty IT (+0.78%), Nifty Auto (+0.61%), and Nifty Media (0.77%) opened with marginal gains.

From the global perspective, US markets have shown some positive signs as Dow Jones ended the day on a higher note with an uplift of 191.66 points or 0.50%.

Asian Markets slowed down amidst high volatility and jittered investor sentiments. Shanghai SE (+0.65%), topped the chart, followed by Nikkei (+0.11%). However, Hang Seng (-0.15%), and Taiwan TSEC (-0.32%) settled in red territory.
