Toyota Kirloskar to recall around 1,000 Urban Cruiser Hyryder due to seat belt issue

7 Dec 2022 , 02:47 PM

Due to a seat belt issue, Toyota Kirloskar Motors has announced that it will be recalling around 1,000 Urban Cruiser Hyryder vehicles.

The company has initiated a voluntary recall campaign for 994 Urban Cruiser Hyryder vehicles in order to look into a potential problem with the front seat belt shoulder height adjuster plate assembly.

The statement claims that the suspect vehicles' defective plate assemblies would be changed. According to the automaker, the recall is being carried out in accordance with the company's dedication to the security and happiness of its customers.

According to TKM, no failures of the allegedly defective part have been reported as of yet.

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder was introduced in July of this year and costs between Rs10.48 lakh and Rs18.99 lakh(ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki India is also recalling 9,125 units of its models Ciaz, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, and Grand Vitara to address potential issues with a portion of the front row seat belts, making TKM not the only manufacturer to do so.

The concerned vehicles were created between November 2 and November 28, 2022, according to the automaker's regulatory filing.

The tiny sports utility vehicle (SUV) Urban Cruiser has recently been taken out of TKM's product lineup in the nation.
