One of the organizations that have been given a license to operate around the clock in the capital is Amazon.
According to a representative of Delhi LG who talked to ET, “Amazon India is one of the applicants whose application has been allowed to operate and go on with their business on a 24/7 basis in the national capital.”
With this authorization, Amazon would be authorized to deliver goods 24 hours a day in Delhi.
A notification to this effect will reportedly be released in a week. According to officials, “The LG has ordered that such applications be dismissed within a strict timeframe to establish an investor and business-friendly atmosphere in Delhi.”
Three years ago, Amazon submitted the application. This approval has been given to 314 different companies in total.
Hotels, restaurants, eateries, online delivery services for food, medications, supplies, and other necessities, as well as transport and travel services, are some of these companies. Additionally, KPOs and BPOs would be able to operate in Delhi around the clock.
Reportedly, the LG has ordered the labour department to make sure that delays in business permissions don’t happen again. Additionally, according to officials, he requested that a structure be created for open and efficient monitoring, with the causes for any delays in processing applications for ease of doing business being determined.
