Matter Motor Works, a technology-led innovation start-up, and Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecommunications service providers, announced a strategic partnership today to deploy Airtel’s IoT solution in Matter AERA, the country’s first and only geared electric motorcycle.
Airtel will enable advanced automotive grade E-Sims on all Matter AERA bikes as part of the partnership, with pre-orders opening on May 17, 2023. In the first phase, 60,000 Matter bikes will be outfitted with Airtel E- Sims equipped with advanced IOT features, providing a smart and connected experience on Airtel’s superior pan-India network.
‘Airtel is delighted to partner with Matter Motor Works and offer best-in-class connected mobility solutions to their consumers using our cutting-edge IoT solutions,’ said Harish Laddha, CEO – Emerging Business, of the partnership. Green mobility will be critical in helping India achieve its net zero goals as the country embarks on its ambitious goal of reducing its carbon footprint.
Over the next three years, Matter intends to produce over 300,000 such bikes. Airtel’s advanced IoT platform, ‘Airtel IoT Hub,’ will assist in the real-time tracking of these vehicles, as well as monitoring performance with advanced analytics while maintaining extremely high reliability and telco-grade security.
