Bharti Airtel Limited informed that Ajay Chitkara has resigned from the position of Business CEO. He will be relieved from his services by the third week of August.
As a result, the telco will operate in three business and channel segments: domestic business led by Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, Nxtra Data Centres led by Ashish Arora, and global business led by Vani Venkatesh, according to a regulatory filing from Airtel.
Gopal Vittal, the Managing Director and CEO of Bharti Airtel, expressed his excitement about the recent changes and stated his intention to collaborate closely with Vani, Ganesh, and Ashish to expand the company’s business.
He also took the opportunity to recognize Ajay’s valuable contributions during his 23-year tenure with Airtel, highlighting his significant achievements in building Airtel Business into a formidable entity. Gopal Vittal extended his best wishes to Ajay for his future endeavours.
Following this development, Bharti Airtel was trading 1.25% higher at Rs 862.60, against the previous close of Rs 851.95 on NSE. The counter touched an intraday high of Rs 863.95. The company’s 52-week high is Rs 888.75.
