Akzo Nobel signs LoI with two India startup challenge winners

Akzo Nobel India Limited informed that the two winning startups of Akzo Nobel’s Paint the Future India startup challenge has begun their acceleration journey.

Winning the coveted ‘Paint the Future’ award has given these entrepreneurs new opportunities. The two winners have signed letters of intent and will now join AkzoNobel’s accelerator programme.

The India startup challenge is the third regional round of AkzoNobel’s Paint the Future programme and the first of its kind in India’s paints and coatings sector.

The challenge of improving the “Digital Consumer Experience” for Dulux paints in India, run in collaboration with the NASSCOM Industry Partnership Program (NIPP), received 207 applications from 33 locations throughout India.

“This startup challenge is about cooperating with equally committed Indian entrepreneurs to strengthen the enchantment of Dulux and improve our consumers’ digital experience. We see a lot of promise in these successful solutions,” says Rajiv Rajgopal, Managing Director of Akzo Nobel India Limited.

Nine finalists were invited to the two-day boot camp programme, where they were able to further improve their idea through personalized workshops with AkzoNobel specialists before delivering their final pitch to the Paint the Future panel.

At around 2.35 PM, Akzo Nobel India was trading at Rs2,154.05 per piece, down by 0.05% from its previous closing of Rs2,155.20 on the BSE. The scrip touched intraday high and low of Rs2,157.40 and Rs2,116 respectively.
