On Sunday, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw for choosing 15 Haryana stations for renovation as part of the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.’
Through video conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the cornerstone for the renovation of 508 railway stations around the nation. There are 22 of these stations in Punjab, and they are dispersed over 27 states and union territories.
Ambala City, Bhiwani Junction, Faridabad, Pataudi Road, Hisar, Bahadurgarh, Jind Junction, Narwana Junction, Narnaul, Kalka, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, Sonipat, and Yamunanagar-Jagadhri are among the 15 Haryana railway stations that would undergo redevelopment under the plan.
At a celebration held to honour the occasion, Khattar noted the noteworthy progress made over the previous nine years in the infrastructure, road, and rail systems.
According to him, traffic pressure on Delhi has greatly decreased with the completion of the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway and the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway.
Today, a national highway connects each district in Haryana. The chief minister claimed that this had improved the state’s economy.
According to Khattar, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) was established under an MoU with the Railway Ministry, and the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Authority was established to strengthen the railway system.
In Rohtak, the first five-kilometer elevated railway track in the nation was constructed. According to him, work on a similar railway in Kurukshetra is nearly finished, and a thorough project report for Kaithal has been created.
In his remarks as the event’s principal guest, Purohit said that because 22 of Punjab’s railway stations have been chosen for redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Punjab will also gain from it.
He claimed that the plan will completely transform the nation’s train system.
No one could have predicted that 508 railway stations would be renovated at the same time, according to Purohit.
Gian Chand Gupta, the speaker of the Haryana Assembly, requested that Chandigarh-Panchkula Railway Station be given the station’s current name instead of Chandigarh.
He asked Khattar and Purohit to raise the issue with the Union cabinet. For giving Rs 511 crore for the renovation of Chandigarh Railway Station, Gupta also thanked the prime minister.
