Ashok Leyland reported its sales numbers for the month of June 2023, and reported a 5% year-on-year increase in sales to 15,221 units, up from 14,531 units in June 2022.
Meanwhile, the company registered 7% y-o-y growth in its total domestic sales in June 2023 at 14,363 units from 13,469 units sold in the same month last year.
Total medium and heavy commercial vehicle (M&HCV) sales increased by 6% year-on-year to 9,962 units. In June 2023, total light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales increased by 2% y-o-y to 5,259 units.
At around 1.33 PM, Ashok Leyland was trading 0.21% lower at Rs 167.05, against the previous close of Rs 167.40 on NSE.
In today’s early morning trade, the counter surged as much as 5% to Rs 173.90 following the release of June sales figures.
Despite an increase in revenue, Ashok Leyland reported a nearly 17% y-o-y drop in net profit to Rs 751.41 crore in Q4 FY23. In Q4 FY23, total revenue from operations increased by nearly 33% year-on-year to Rs 11,626 crore.
