A credit outreach campaign was set up by the Bank of Maharashtra (BoM), and as a result, loans totalling roughly Rs1,000 crore have been approved.
Sanjay Malhotra, the financial services secretary, gave out loan sanction letters to the recipients on Saturday in Pune, according to a statement from BoM.
The report stated the secretary also spoke with participants at self-help group kiosks at the event.
He urged the bank to design a variety of financial services and products with the demands of consumers at the forefront and customer happiness as the top priority.
He emphasized the growing significance of online banking.
The outreach programs have become synonymous with our lending to the retail, agricultural, and MSME sectors, as well as the bank’s crucial journey toward financial inclusion, according to BoM Managing Director A S Rajeev, who spoke at the event. This has given a boost to our efforts to serve the unserved and underserved.
The bank will keep working to deliver more through digitization and is committed to lending under several flagship programs and supporting various social security programs of the Government of India, he said.
