Dalmia Cement secures Madhya Pradesh coal mine block

On the first day of the latest round of commercial coal mine auction held on Monday, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd secured a block in Madhya Pradesh.

On day 1, Shree Cement made the highest bid for a coal mine in Chhattisgarh out of the ten mines auctioned.

While Rungta Sons Pvt Ltd was the highest bidder for an Odisha coal mine, Samlok Industries Pvt Ltd was the highest bidder for a Maharashtra mine.

Orissa Metallurgical Industry Pvt Ltd won a mine in West Bengal, while Rama Cement Industries Pvt Ltd won a coal mine in Madhya Pradesh.

MH Natural Resources Pvt Ltd was the highest bidder for a Maharashtra coal block, and RCR Steel Works Pvt Ltd was the highest bidder for a Jharkhand mine.

Chhattisgarh’s coal block has been acquired by CG Natural Resources Private Ltd. A coal block in Jharkhand was also up for auction.

Six coal mines have fully explored blocks, while four have partially explored blocks.

These ten coal mines have a total geological reserve of 1,866 million tonnes. These coal mines have a total peak-rated capacity of 7.9 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) (excluding partially explored coal mines).

These coal mines, once operational, will generate an estimated annual revenue of Rs990 crore. These mines will require Rs1,185 crore in capital investment and will employ 10,681 people.
