According to a government press statement on Thursday, Indian Railways’ freight loading for the first eight months of the current fiscal year exceeded both loading and earnings for the same period last year.
According to the announcement, the cumulative loading of freight from April through November of this year was 978.72 MT compared to 903.16 MT last year. This represents an 8% improvement.
In comparison to the same period last year, railways made Rs1,05,905 crore as opposed to Rs 91,127 crore, an increase of 16%.
“Originating freight loading reached 123.9 MT in November 2022 as opposed to 116.96 MT in November 2021. This represents an improvement of 5% from the previous year. By achieving freight income of Rs13560 crore compared to Rs12206 crore freight earnings in October 2021, an improvement of 11% over the prior year was demonstrated “the release stated.
