LIC, the largest domestic institutional investor in India, gains a notional profit of around Rs 80,000 crore in the last 50 trading sessions.
Approximately 110 stocks in LIC’s portfolio deliver double-digit returns during this period, with Gokak Textiles, a microcap stock, leading with a 204% return.
Top Q3 performers in LIC’s portfolio include Industrial Investment Trust, Orient Green Power Company, Adani Total Gas, BSE, Spencer’s Retail, The New India Assurance Company, Swan Energy, and Power Finance Corporation.
While LIC holds hundreds of stocks, details are available for 260 stocks where the PSU owns at least a 1% stake.
Excluding counters not currently traded on exchanges, LIC’s equity portfolio, based on publicly-available data, increases by about Rs 80,300 crore to reach Rs 11.7 lakh crore.
At the end of the September quarter, LIC’s equity portfolio was estimated to be around Rs 10.9 lakh crore, according to ACE Equity data. In the current quarter, Nifty records a 6.5% increase, while LIC’s portfolio experiences a higher rally of 7.36%.
